One of the important lessons I’ve learned from Wynn Handman is that preparation is key. Even a quick moment to establish in your mind when/where/what/how. Not a class went by that Wynn didn’t emphasize the importance of the “when” of the scene, of the moment. Everyone has a different way of preparing (for me, music is extremely helpful). Do you need to close your eyes for 30 seconds and breathe? Stretch for an hour? Be with your thoughts for a moment? Remember what pisses you off? Whatever it takes to get “there.”
